Welcome : New Website based on Wordpress
Dearle.com has gone through several incarnations in the past. Having started as a bespoke Coldfusion website developed by WebIT in 2003 it morphed into a Blogger.com based site in 2006 when WebITs hosting package became excessive. This latest incarnation based on Wordpress 2.8.5. The array of plugins and themes available for Wordpress make it a doddle to manage and update so I see myself sticking with it for the foreseeable future.
The theme I’m using is WP-Dark from Bartelme Design. Wolfgang Bartelme is one of the coolest Web 2.0 designers working on the web these days. He redesigns his own Website about every 18 months and is generous enough to allow the rest of us use his old designs for free when he is done with them. This Wordpress template was put together by ILemoned. I feel a little bit cheapskate using such a good template for free but when the time comes and I’ve a bit of cash in hand I’m going to get Wolfgang to design me my own template…. promise!
I’ve committed to Wordpress bigtime and will be putting together a proper Blog (at last) over at KodeBlog.com as soon as I can get the time. I’ve a few idea for Wordpress plugins of my own which I’m working on. When the time comes I’ll post them here and hopefully Blog about how they work on KodeBlog.
